estimates that this photo (showing hangar with no clubhouse)
was taken in the mid 60's when his Dad (Gilbert Simpkins Snr.) was first
learning to fly. He also adds that, while he
would be happy to be corrected, he thinks the green VW just in picture
was the Simpkins family car, the people in the photo include
his Dad and Ivan Watt, and the gliders are the Kookaburra, the
Slingsby T.41 Skylark 2 (now GRB) and the Bocian. |
